"I rigged my cellular to send a message to my PDA, which is online with my PC, to get it to activate the voicemail, which sends the message to the inbox of my email, which routes it to the PDA, which beams it back to the cellular. Then I realized my gadgets have a better social life than I do." !" - Tom Ostad

i think the design is really cool. something you’d see on a concept or only for sale in Japan. Even i am not a fan of WinMo but its nice to see the direction in which SE is heading. Looking forward to other Xperia models hopefully with Symbian UIQ

Nice! XPERIA = Inspired
.
Does anyone know if this unit comes shipped with an m2 micro stick, and perhaps the capacity? Can it support perhaps an 8 gb m2 micro stick?
(Perhaps in the future, they’ll be able to manufacture a 16 gb or even 32 gb m2 micro. )

So does that mean the "Memory Stick SanDisk Micro™" is a M2 or MicroSD card?

Design - Great
Features - Good
OS - Brushing the FRONT of a Windows Mobile is basically Windows Mobile, which is not something I want. Give it UIQ or S60 FP2 and they got one more customer…

It was initially reported as microSD. In the product’s specification, it is M2, so I guess it should be M2 then.
1 - 1 = 0

I would buy it.

Preview of X1 in Chinese - http://publish.it168.com/2008/0222/20080222005001.shtml
Seems like it has everything I wished for. Apart from the spec mentioned at the beginning of the threat, it has 3.5mm audio jack, microSD that support 8GB card, miniUSB, 528MHz MSM7200A processor and 256MB ROM/128MB RAM.
The only possible problem I see is the WVGA, it’s too dense for a 3" display. While text and graphics can be made device independent, not all items are designed to be scaled accordingly. For example, when playing Creature of the Deep on N81’s QVGA screen, some text are barely readable. In fact, there was a page when the game was 1st loaded that I can’t see the content at all… I can’t imagine if it was on the X1 display…
Nevertheless, it’s still a great device. Poor trade-in prices has been one of my main concern when purchasing Windows Mobile devices, hopefully Sony Ericsson name will change that, and I would go for X1 or future products no matter they are made by HTC or not

I thought I won’t be looking at Xperia X1, don’t think the screen resolution makes any sense on a 3" display. However, after using LG KS20 and Samsung Omnia for the past few months, I am back to waiting for Xperia X1.
While Omnia is indeed a very good phone, full touch operation just isn’t to my liking, it is too troublesome and inefficient. While I still don’t appreciate the display of Xperia X1, it seems to be only powerhouse with everything I wish for, ie. real soft keys, <Ok> button and navigation pad on the front, 3.5mm audio jack, standard USB connector, microSD instead of M2, WiFi, keyboard and etc.
Hopefully, Xperia X1 won’t be the last touchscreen phone with the hardware keys on the front…

I was seriously waiting for the XPERIA X1 until the Samsung Omnia showed up and I just couldn’t resist buying the latter. Now I don’t know whether I still want the XPERIA though the device really looks good.
