Is your memory filled up with user data? Stuff like your audio files, photos, or whatever? If so, it’s better to move these all to your (ROM) storage. And best to store them on a removable flash card.

You may be running too many programs simultaneously. I’d recommend uninstalling anything that you don’t use (assuming you can always reinstall it again). Running too many Today Plug-ins at once will significantly degrade performance and reliability.

Chances are that your memory is filled up with programs that haven’t completely shut down - they’re still running, suspended in the "background". Windows generally sucks at automated memory management. Try a program like WisBar to clean things up.

Finally, you could always try another player. PocketMusic, TCPMP, and TodayPlayer are all good choices.

    gepidae,

are you still having that issue, i’m having the same problem, after i cleaned it up as much as i can and everything i can only get it up to 45%, not sure why that is

I think WM6 and some of its apps are just crammed full with memory leaks. I get the same issue. you should have about 28mb of RAM free when you first soft reset. But after about a day’s worth of use, about 15mb is free (and i use a task manager app, still only 12 processes running like after a soft reset). Only solution for me is soft reset, dunno if there’s an app that fixes memory management.

You can use the WM Memory applet to manually force all "running" processes to shut down. You might (or might not) lose any "unsaved" data, but I wouldn’t worry overmuch about it - all WM functions and native applications will function properly each time you open them up again, regardless of whether they’re occupying precious RAM or not. You won’t lose any of your PIM stuff (Contacts, Notes, Tasks, etc) by forcing their associated applets to shut down.

Well currently all my songs are on my flash card.

After a clean reboot memory seems to be still 40% ish free.

If I went to memory and looked at all the programs running and simply do stop all would that be efficient? I tried still and memory doesn’t seem to free up.

    Thanks for the feedback
