"I rigged my cellular to send a message to my PDA, which is online with my PC, to get it to activate the voicemail, which sends the message to the inbox of my email, which routes it to the PDA, which beams it back to the cellular. Then I realized my gadgets have a better social life than I do." !" - Tom Ostad

I have had a similar problem with my TX. I had to have it replaced 4 times in the first year! The touchscreen kept going out of whack. I have had my current device for three months now. I think that’s a record. With the last replacement, I was told to sync it differently. I used to have a Sony Clie with Palm OS. It may by that the Sony applications were messing up my previous Palms. It sounds strange to me, but so far, it seems to be working.

Odd, the power button is a known issue but the devices digitizer (touchscreen) shouldn’t just go like that. Generally if somethings going wrong with it there are symptoms you can pick up like "digitizer drift" where you put pressure on part of the screen however the device picks it up on a different part of the screen.
Something to check is make sure there’s nothing caught between the gap of the screen and the edge of the casing such as a screen protector, lint, dirt etc.

In the past year i have had 4 tx’s I am nopt going to bother to replace the last one. I just struggle along with only a small part of the screen responding. SAtaples warned me when I bought it that the extended warranty was a good idea becasue people tend to have screen problems. My issue is that there is no Palm phone that has as big a screen or is as adept at the pda functions… or is there?

Here is what needs to be done about the Palm TX screen digitizer issue..
Go to this link:
Get yourself a new digitizer. Install it. Problems disappear. I did this with
my TX about two years ago, and haven’t had any problems. It was not a
simple fix, and you need a little bit of expertise.. but not impossible.
I actually bought two used digitizers, thinking I’d probably mess one up during my first attempt..
..but I did get it working the first time.
Here is another link:
I got a cool video from these guys (and should have bought my digitizer from them, as it is a GLASS digitizer.. for the same price as a "used" digitizer).
They have a video which shows exactly how to get at the thing to make repair.
Best wishes..

Our TX has a strange issue and I wonder if the replacement mentioned above would fix it. It is 2 years old. All had been fine and then we noticed that if we press on the bottom on the FIND icon, it does not work. If we press right at the edge of the screen, below the Icon, it is OK. Also, when entering text, there are more and more times when it does not "echo" the correct letter…sometimes it just shows a Period. We have changed the protector and did a hard reset and done several screen cals…no help.
TIA…if a $60 part will fix it it is worth a try, as we do not want an iPOD. OH, what do they mean by a glass digitizer? I see a new LCD/Digitizer from the place with new parts.

Sounds like I will try it. A glass Digitizer is about $45. It may be worth it.
