"I rigged my cellular to send a message to my PDA, which is online with my PC, to get it to activate the voicemail, which sends the message to the inbox of my email, which routes it to the PDA, which beams it back to the cellular. Then I realized my gadgets have a better social life than I do." !" - Tom Ostad

there’re lots of reasons to have 2 different devices, some practical and some purely personal. just off the top of my head, I can look up info/take notes on my Lifedrive has it too, it is discontinued, same for one of the earlier Tungsten models, sorry, I forget which one). A few recent (also discontinued) models can give you WiFi with a WiFi card, but the card is discontinued, and it has an impact on battery life, as well as using the only SD card slot {no external memory}. In addition, even though Palm has seemingly abandoned the traditional stand-alone PDA, developers for it have not; case in point is the soon to be released driver upgrade to let many Palm devices, including the TX, use the higher capacity SDHC cards (currently, the largest memory card for it is a hit&miss {performance wise} 4G SD card; SDHC cards are less expensive generally and are available in much higher capacity).

Yikes! Thanks for pointing that paragraph … I mean to say … "I don’t mind using 2 different devices". I’ve edited my post.
I started to type out a sentence but didn’t fully correct it. Thank you again
Thanks for your time!!!

Well, that can happen even with a PDA. The best way to insure yourself if/when this were to happen is to be sure & use a good locking system on your PDA/Smartphone and use a good password manager rather than relying upon password protected Excel/Word files, which are pretty easy to crack. That won’t be 100% foolproof, but it greatly reduces the chances of anyone getting to your sensitive data, should they get their hands on your device.
Second, do regular backups to an SD card & then backup the SD card regularly to a PC. This way, if your entire device, including SD card, gets lost/stolen, you copy the latest data from your PC to another SD card. Pop the SD card into your replacement device & do a restore of the data.
There are several threads here on backup and security that you may want to read through.

Hi,
Have you considered going with A WinMobile device?
If you are open to that format, there are A lot of benefits with it also.
